Under the Tree child profiles

Children under 13 don't have accounts.

An adult in the family creates and manages each child profile, and decides what goes on the child's wish list.

We don't profile children, show them adverts, or add affiliate links to their lists. We don't use children's information for marketing.

What adults can add for a child

  • A first name or nickname.
  • Optional preferences chosen by the adult managing the profile.
  • Wish-list items and links managed by the adult.
  • Secret Santa participation where a linked guardian reveals the child's match and manages anonymous questions on the child's behalf.

How long Under the Tree keeps family spaces

Family spaces and their content are kept until 31 January 2027, then deleted, unless the Head Elf chooses "Keep our family for 2027". We email the Head Elf on 2 and 24 January and offer an export first. A kept family stays until the Head Elf deletes it. You can delete sooner at any time.

Moments and children in photos

Moments never guesses ages or recognises faces. Instead:

  • Hosts can turn on "Approve before showing" so nothing appears until they've checked it.
  • Hosts can set "No photos of children, please" as an event rule, which guests see before uploading.
  • Any guest can report a photo, and it's hidden straight away while it's checked.
  • Parents can ask the host or us to remove a photo of their child at any time, and we'll do it promptly.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete data, or object to how we use it, by writing to hello@popusin.com. We'll reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), but please talk to us first so we can help.
